The 2012-2013 school year is Ms. Mitchell's second year at Bear Creek High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Policy from UC Davis then worked as an Environmental Consultant before becoming a teacher.
When Ms. Mitchell is not teaching she loves being outdoors! Whether it is hiking below, up, or around giant mountains, swimming in the ocean, running, biking, or climbing.
She also loves to cook and bake, drink coffee, play with dogs, and shop at the farmer's market on the weekend.
Philosophy About Learning
Ms. Mitchell believes that every student is capable of being successful in Biology. She can give her students the information and tools to help them learn, but without their own hard work it can be difficult for students to succeed.
She also believes that going to school is not just important for what students will learn about science, history, math, or english. In all of their classes, students are also developing skills that will help them when they leave Bear Creek High School. In every class they have, students are learning how to work well with others and are developing a sense of responsibility as well as other life skills that will help them be more successful as adults.
